Racing for the cure

  • May. 30th, 2008 at 1:33 PM

I'll admit it. I'm normally one of those folks who runs races without really caring what charity is getting the money. I pick most of my races for other reasons - location, timing, or convenience.

However, in a couple of weeks I'll be running the Susan B. Komen's Race for the Cure in Raleigh. I'm hoping you'll think about supporting me. You can donate here: http://race.komennctriangle.org/site/TR?pg=personal&fr_id=1030&px=1317128

I'm not promising to run this race very fast. Readers of this blog know that I'm in physical therapy for my knee right now.  My physical therapist is only letting me run two miles at a time. I'm hoping to get him up to three by the time of the race. If not, I'll just walk the last mile. This race is too important for me to skip it.

My stepmom and my sister-in-law are fighting breast cancer right now, and I'm really worried about them.  Living here in North Carolina, there's not a whole lot I can do for them.  However, I can run.  I hope you'll help support me for this race.

THANKS!
